Revised Policies for Container Ships on Trade Routes

Container Ships

 

​Suez Canal Authority decided that circular no. (2/2016), its amendment issued on 13 July 2016 and its amending periodical issued on 27 September 2020 (which grants rebates to laden or ballast “Containerships” coming from ports at the “East Coast of the Americas and the US Gulf” and heading to ports ‎at the “South and Southeast of Asia”) shall remain in force according to the following:

 

Amending para. 1 & 2 of the “Amendment to circ. (2/2016)” issued on 13/07/2016 to read as follows:

 

1) Laden or ballast “Containerships” coming from “Port of Norfolk” and its northern ports and heading to “Port Klang” and its eastern ports shall be granted a rebate of 40%.

2)Laden or ballast “Containerships” coming from ports at the south of “Port of Norfolk” and heading to:

 

a) “Port Klang” and its eastern ports shall be granted a rebate of 60%.

b) “Port of Colombo” and its eastern ports up to “Port Klang” shall be granted a rebate of 50%.

 

Container Ships

 

“Containerships” (laden/ballast) directly coming from ports at “North-West Europe” (and Tangier port) starting from Algeciras port and directly heading to (Port Klang) and its Eastern ports at “South-East of Asia” and the “Far East” are exempted from the 15% increase in the normal transit dues stipulated in para (a), article one of circular (7/2023.)
